Teamwork

A few weeks ago here in Jaguar Labs we obtained the results of the value assessment our team participates in yearly. The majority of the people who work here had one answer in common; teamwork.

Teamwork is what we value as people, what we live by everyday, and what we want to preserve in the future.

Generally in the software development industry individual knowledge and experience is most valuable as it demonstrates whether developers are juniors or seniors, how much they know, and whether they’ve created interesting projects in the past. In Jaguar Labs we put more focus on valuing the individuals problem solving capacity, the support they look for from fellow colleagues, and their ability to have a positive attitude even when circumstances are negative. We also value how an individual learns from their mistakes and the efforts they make in improving themselves.

I believe that teamwork specifically is a combination of many values: the commitment made in solving a problem, honesty, the humility to recognize when help is needed, respect towards those who ask for help, and finally the trust we have towards our colleagues knowing they won’t let us down.

As the Operations Manager of Jaguar Labs I feel proud to lead a group that is not afraid to ask questions, share their knowledge, confront proposals head on and make the right choices about them. I am continually impressed by our associates who help their colleagues even when they already have a lot on their plate. Associates who laugh at a good joke, and even ask for food when they forget to bring their lunch. This is what happens naturally when working together as a team.

I tell our clients one thing:  they can rest assure that what we do, we do with passion. We always look to solve you problems the best way possible putting in our full effort, commitment and experience. Teamwork isn’t something you have to ask of us, it’s something that we live everyday, and something we believe helps us turn in projects on time and therefore better satisfy our clients needs.

I tell my team the following: To maintain a good attitude, keep up with commitments, and most importantly trust your team. Your personal and professional growth depends on those you have besides you day by day. At Jaguar Labs we have become a second family to our collaborators, and it’s important to support and trust each other so our family can continue to improve and grow!
